Cavendish is an independent, niche international service provider based in Douglas, Isle of Man. We have built a track record across a wide range of sectors: trust, corporate, foundations, e-gaming, fintech, space and satellite services, aviation, and blockchain. We bring that breadth of experience to bear on the Isle of Man's data asset foundation initiative, in which Cavendish has been closely engaged since the earliest stages of its development.

Rick Landman is the driving force behind Cavendish's Data Asset Foundation offering and is actively involved in the initiative as it develops. A seasoned professional with deep roots in data governance, data security, and data architecture, Rick has contributed directly to industry consultations and technical development sessions, helping to shape the framework as it has progressed through Tynwald. He recognised early that the DAF regime represents something genuinely new: the first statutory framework capable of giving data the legal standing and governance rigour it deserves as a commercial asset.

Rick holds EDMA DCAM V3 Certified Trainer status, recognising his qualification to deliver the Data Management Capability Assessment Model Version 3 framework as an accredited trainer. DCAM V3 is the leading industry standard for assessing and maturing enterprise data management capability, and it sits at the heart of the governance frameworks that DAF clients must be prepared to evidence. Beyond his trainer accreditation, Rick brings hands-on experience across the full data governance lifecycle, spanning strategy and framework design through to technical implementation, security architecture, and compliance. That breadth means he understands not only how to navigate the DAF regime's requirements, but also how to assess whether a given dataset is genuinely ready for the governance obligations a Foundation demands.

He has worked with organisations across financial services, technology, and the data economy, and approaches every engagement with the same belief: that good data governance is not a compliance burden but a competitive advantage. The DAF regime, in his view, is the first statutory instrument that makes that case in a meaningful way.
